4th of July Carnival @ Vandalia Lake

3rd Annual Carival sponsored by the Vandalia Lions Club in conjunction with their Annual Fireworks Show at Vandalia Lake. Carnival will run 3 days, opening late afternoon and continuing into the evening. Tickets available at the event for the rides.

4th ANNUAL LINCOLN HERITAGE FESTIVAL @ Vandalia Parks
Jul 9 @ 10:00 am – Jul 10 @ 4:00 pm

Come out and spend a day in the park with History!!  The 4th Annual Lincoln Heritage Festival will once again be held in Vandalia Parks (Rogier, Greer and Sonneman).  Activities begin at 10:00am Saturday with music, vendors, music and more!!  You can check out 1800's baseball round robin tourney at the HS baseball field and then take in the Civil War Battle Skirmish at Sonnemann Park - be sure to bring your lawn chairs :)

Saturday evening ends with a Civil War Ball at the American Legion Home, 321 S. 7th St., Vandalia.  The Salt Creek String Band will perform period music, complete with caller from 8pm-10pm.

Sunday brings a 9:30 a.m. outdoor church service by Al Schumacher in Greer Park and music by Ed Taylor.  Music and activities begin at 11am, and the day ends with another Civil War Battle Skirmish at 2pm.

Parking will be available in the Vandalia High School Parking Lot.

Olde Tyme Christmas @ Downtown Vandalia, IL

Annual Olde Tyme Christmas event will be held November 11, 2016 from 3pm-9pm and Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 10am-2pm.  Events will include:  Vendors, Merchants open late and sales, Lighting of City Christmas Tree at 5pm and Rotary Christmas Parade immediately following.

Friday events include: Santa and Mrs. Claus beginning at 6pm in the former Allen's Furniture Building; Carolers; Mobile Carrilon; Live Reindeer (fee for pictures); Vandalia Fire Department Chili Supper at the Fire Hall beginning at 5pm; Storytime at Evans Public Library at 6pm; Live Nativity provided by Crown Point Church at the corner of 5th & Gallatin Sts.; National Road Interpretive Center, Fayette County Museum and Vandalia Statehouse tours and more!
